Man… what a journey.

It’s 3AM. We’re here at our headquarters in Yerevan, Armenia a little outside the city center, blasting “Forget me too” by Machine Gun Kelly and Halsey in the background, busy with work… and, right about now I’m feeling this sense of thrill, like… finally after this entire period of research, engineering and development, we’re finally putting the finishing touches on this website, and getting ready to launch DrumStar. And with that spirit, I thought I’d take a second to let you all know who I am and what our road has been like going from nothing to building out this dream of a company: DrumStar Corporation.

Since I was a kid, born and raised in Long Island, NY, I was a guitarist, and at the age of 8, I started a rock band with my three best friends Tom, Dan, and Leon… the truest definition of my “day ones.” Over the years, I became a vocalist, thanks to the one and only Melissa Cross (a true legend and undoubtedly one of my best friends). Soon after, I became an audio engineer and record producer, finding myself assisting sessions for Ne-Yo, Mac Miller, Wale, Cobra Starship, Rockie Fresh, Ty-Dolla-Sign, Meek Mill… and many more until i found my place as a guitarist, musical director and manager for an artist named “Jovanie” who my team and I eventually signed to Atlantic Records… What a trip that was, until that story became so toxic… what a shame.

All this to say… through every season of my life and times, I’ve had this little secret up my sleeve, that I really wanted to share with the world just when the time was right. And, that time is now… My name is Greg Dosttur, and Im proud to introduce the DrumStar Kit, the first of its kind, small scale, multi-height, portable electronic drum set that you can play with fingers, or sticks: “The DrumStar Kit” and its SO fun, useful and contemporary.

When I say, I started with nothing… I mean it, like no knowledge, no cash and just some stupid fear of getting ripped off and never being able to do it in time. I didnt have a clue about how to build 3D parts, electronics, DSP, manufacturing… etc. I just knew how to use these products. So I spent every night at some Starbucks on Jericho Tpke in my hometown back in Long Island, NY, with a pen, paper, and ruler, drafting out my first prototypes and all the features i dreamt of, eventually learning Autodesk Inventor, saved up cash and bought a 3D printer and started making parts.

I want to share this experience with all of you, so you too can have a sick experience learning how to drum, practicing and performing drums, starting bands, musical groups, recording songs, making drum covers, and in general.. Creating. We as a team are open to ALL of your ideas, thoughts and feedback.

Sending you all my best wishes for peace, love and to always stay inspired.
